Description

Unconscious biases are biological, functional, and built-in to the human brain over years of evolutionary history. In the modern workplace, our unconscious biases often prevent us from making high-quality decisions that reflect our conscious values of inclusion and equity.

In this class, you’ll learn how to manage bias in a range of everyday workplace decisions. You will explore what unconscious bias is, the different types of biases, and how they manifest in the workplace. Then, we’ll give you a simple method to engage conscious thinking and manage bias when making high-stakes interpersonal decisions.

You will leave with a greater understanding of the following:

  • The different types of bias and where they originate from
  • How to recognize bias within yourself and others
  • Strategies for mitigating bias and making more informed decisions
