Masterclass: Intergenerational Communication At Work

1 class
60 minutes

Description

In this session, participants tackle how to navigate transparency in the workplace and learn how to build trust through vulnerability—without crossing into oversharing—and explore how generational perspectives shape what we share and why.

The way we verbally communicate is dependent on many things including our family of origin and upbringing, our life experiences, and our personalities. There is another factor: our generations. When you were born also affects how you communicate in the workplace. This is important because for the first time in history, we have 4 generations in the workplace at the same time! And while that means there are challenges, there are also incredible benefits:

You have heard of EI. This class focuses on GI (generational intelligence) which can be a competitive advantage for individuals wishing to progress their careers and for companies in general.

By the end of this course, you will leave with a better understanding of:

  • The need to build trust through vulnerability WITHOUT crossing into oversharing or retreating into under-sharing.
  • Generational perspectives that inform our choices about how and what we share with our colleagues
  • How to tailor your message to connect with colleagues in the workplace regardless of age!
