Let’s Discuss: Making Sense of AI (For Beginners)

1 class
60 minutes

Description

Note: Learners will need access to a generative AI tool (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot) for hands-on practice during the session.

This facilitated session, designed for all audiences, helps participants make sense of the fast-evolving world of artificial intelligence — from voice assistants like Siri and Alexa to generative tools like ChatGPT and Copilot.

Through engaging discussion and hands-on activities, participants will:

  • Learn how different types of AI (voice assistants, machine learning, and generative AI) function and where they show up in daily work.
  • Practice the art of prompting — crafting clear, effective instructions to get useful results from AI tools.
  • Explore ethical and practical guidelines for using AI responsibly, identifying when human judgment, privacy, or nuance matter most.

Participants will leave with practical frameworks, example prompts, and strategies to integrate AI thoughtfully into their work — boosting productivity while staying grounded in responsible use.
